The Wedding Feast at Cana (John 2)

The Wedding Feast at Cana (John 2)

Sometimes in church life we have to reflect on the authenticity of what we are about, and measure ourselves against the scriptural principles laid down by Jesus and developed by Paul and the apostles.

The primary purpose of this teaching module is to help a church, or a church leadership team, to evaluate the various ministries, programmes and roles in the church against the sayings of Jesus and the other New Testament writers, and take appropriate actions if required.

For instance, Jesus said “Love one another as I have loved you.” What does that look like in your church? Do roles and programmes sometimes get a higher priority? Paul says “Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts”. He says this is the ‘most excellent way’’. Does our church life reflect this?

This module can include the following topics:

*People not programs – family values
* Love not control
* Holy Spirit led – not religion
* Body ministry – ‘one anothers’
* Gifts/Fruit of the Spirit- making room for prophecy
* Growing up - Raising children; headship
* Preparing for Christ’s return – balancing grace and judgement
* Evangelism -  ‘spheres of influence”
* Leadership – equipping the saints;  church the shape of the people

This module can be in 7 sessions over a weekend or weekly*, and will be a workshop model with lots of time for discussion and debate
